So this weekend I had an amazing opportunity to be apart of a conference for the Western Psychological Association (WPA).
The conference was filled with shocking statistics, beautiful people, and a lot of new research.
Some of the new research included: sexual fluidity over the last few years, programs such as PETSA (Personal Empowerment Through Self Awareness), and exploration of a relationship of joy and gratitude.
All of which are extremely interesting and full of new and fun discoveries.
After having this experience I would definitely recommend and encourage everyone interested in the psychology world to go! It's very easy to become a member of the WPA (if you are a student) which is 35$ and registration for the event is 65$ but I think the experience and information you receive is priceless!
However, I do have a few words of advice. IF you are familiar with the psychology world AND are familiar with well respected psychologists UNDERSTAND that there is a difference between respecting the individual for their work and respecting the individual themselves.
Unfortunately, I experienced a well known researcher who was not as professional as I had hoped. Nevertheless although, a person might not be what you expect that should not take away from the amount of work they contributed to bringing important information to society!
On that note here are some fun pictures with amazing people from the conference:
P.S If you would like more information on the statistics, symposiums, poster sessions, and paper sessions from the conference I am more than happy to share! Either comment below or email me:)!
