Everyone always says that you find a piece of yourself when you travel.
I have to admit, I didn't fully believe them until now.
I had just gotten back from Bali and I couldn't wrap my head around what I had just experienced.
I realize that there are beautiful things in life, but this was a bit different.
It was spiritual.
What I mean by this is that I witnessed some of the most incredible moments that made me realize what life should be about.
Id like to tell you about these moments
It was our second day of travel and we decided to visit one of the main temples in Bali.
This temple encompassed beautiful ponds that were full of large fully grown koi fish eager to check you out as they swam by and there were small waterfalls that trickled down the bright green tropical forrest walls.
But my favorite was one pond in particular.
This pond was one that stood out from the others it had spouts where water poured out from the mountains above. As the water poured people moved through them letting the water swarm their body. Each time saying a prayer, and each time letting the water from the spout cover their faces.
And thats when I saw him. A frail old man with many wrinkles. The wrinkles covered his face and his body providing him with the appearance of true wisdom.
But he was struggling, struggling to move and struggling to walk down the stairs that led to the water and led to the spouts.
And then it happened.
In a near corner a young man turns around. The young man notices that an elder is struggling and walks over without a word, picks him up, and carries him to every spout.
Each time saying a prayer, and each time letting the water cover cover their faces.
Witnessing this brought true joy to my heart. It made me realize that there are simple things in life that we often miss because were busy or stressed out or we think that we don't have a moment to pause and look around.
But thats not true, I realize that all it takes is a second. One second to notice something beautiful everyday.
Luckily I was able to pull out my camera fast enough to capture this moment but when I looked around I was the only one who saw.
The only one who would tell the story of the wise old man and the man who carried him to purity.
