This was written for those of you struggling with your own fears and for those who have been to afraid to go after your dreams.
You have to let go of her
The one you've been letting hold you back
She's safe you see
Promising comfort in her eyes
You've been used to her and the way she held you
Protecting you from the monster outside
But it was time to let go
You let her hold you too tight
She was protecting you from more than the monster you see
Her suffocation never let you breathe
Her suffocation never let you see
That beyond the protection
Beyond her embrace
You could see the monster through the window
His eyes were bigger than you thought
His face scarier than you imagined
But, there was something different
He didn't want to be outside
The more you let go of her the more you could see
The monster wasn't scary he was looking right at me
The eyes that appeared so big were full of tears
His face that was scary had seen 100 years
The more I let her go, the more I could see
The monster that seemed scary was another part of me
I opened the door and let him in
Preparing for what could be
I turned around for comfort hoping I would see
The one who always held me with her warm embrace
Who led me to believe that her protection would keep me safe
Would leave me never hurt and would love me more than he ever could
Turning back now I couldn't believe that when I looked for her eyes an empty chair was all I could see.
This poem is for you....
A lot of times I believe that we get so caught up in our own fears and anything different than what we are used too that we forget that what we are so afraid of is another part of ourself.
and that new self may be scary but I believe that if you choose to explore another side, it will lead you to having the courage to live up to your full potential.
It will guide you to becoming the person you want to be and most importantly it can help you help more than yourself.
This set of images remind me that things may seem desolate and in despair but at the same time hold so much power and beauty...
I hope this helps you all in some way
